Little Rapids Corporation has merged Shawano Specialty Papers and Nexxa into one entity, now operating as Rapids Paper + Packaging.
The new combined division will remain part of the family-owned Little Rapids, a company with more than 100 years of experience in specialty papers and flexible packaging.
The purpose of the merger is to combine capabilities in specialty paper, flexible packaging, printing, and coating technologies, bringing them together under one structure.
According to the company, this alignment is designed to create a more integrated approach to product development and delivery.
Rapids Paper + Packaging will target environmentally conscious practices with a focus on fiber sourcing, water management, waste reduction, and coatings that can help reduce plastic consumption and meet recyclability requirements.
Among its offerings is Aqua, which the company describes as a paper-based packaging solution aimed at helping consumers use less plastic.
Operations in Green Bay and Shawano, Wisconsin will continue unchanged, with local teams responsible for technical services and customer support.
Existing customer relationships and their operational implications will be maintained as part of the transition, the company said.
Angie Sheehan, CEO of Little Rapids, said: “This alignment allows us to unlock new possibilities in efficiency and sustainability.
“As brands face increasing pressure to reduce plastic use and meet environmental expectations, combining our expertise provides a strong foundation to help them move faster, solve complex challenges and deliver responsible packaging.”
“Little Rapids Unifies Paper Brands Under Single Division” was originally created and published by Packaging Gatewaya brand owned by Global Data.
