Wheat Posts Tuesday Gains

The wheat complex posted Tuesday’s strength across all three markets. Chicago SRW futures saw gains of 4 to 5 percent in Tuesday’s session. KCHRW futures were in the green near 5 to 6 cents. MPLS spring wheat futures were up to 12 ¼ cents in December contracts, 4 to 5 cents higher in other months. Markets will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, opening in earnest on Friday at 8:30 CST.

Traders’ data determination for the week of October 14 was released this afternoon, with CBT wheat futures and options adding 111,743 contracts to their net short position by 14,387 contracts. In KC Wheat, he added 4,170 contracts to 67,704 contracts in his short.

Delayed export sales from the week of 10/9 saw 613,899 MT of wheat sold, which was on the higher side of trade estimates of 350,000 to 650,000 MT of wheat sold this week. That was earlier in the week, but up 21.78 percent from the same week last year.

A South Korean importer prepared for 90,000 MT of wheat from the US and Canada. IKAR estimates that the 2026 wheat crop in Russia is 86-91 mm. EU wheat exports totaled 9.19 mmt from July 1 to November 21, 0.5 mmt behind the same period last year.

Dec. 25 CBOT wheat closed at 5.27 1/4, up 5 cents.

March 26 CBOT wheat closed at $5.39 1/4, up 4 1/2 cents.

Dec. 25 CBT wheat closed at $5.13 1/4, up 6 cents.

CBT wheat for March 26 closed at $5.28 1/4, up 5 3/4 cents.

Dec. 25 MGEX wheat closed at $5.80, up 12 1/4 cents.

March 26 MGEX wheat closed at $5.81 3/4, up 4 3/4 cents.
