For a few years, WT Stevens supplemented his Detroit autoworker earnings with a small development enterprise. However there was nothing small about his impression on the folks of Flint, Michigan.
When Stevens, a father of eight, died in February 2002, his daughter Rhonda Grayer realized that the “good, nonconfrontational man” she had identified had one other facet. “I used to be simply amazed at his funeral, how many individuals’s lives he’d impacted,” she says. Undeterred, Grayer employed a plumber to show her staff to work on municipal water pipes, which helped WT Stevens go the pilot program and snag $27 million in contracts to change 5,000 Flint water traces between 2016 and 2019.
The income and visibility have since helped WT Stevens win a number of massive contracts within the better Detroit space.
