Nvidia has officially entered the world of consumer laptop chips with the RTX Spark, and several device makers have already developed hardware for it. Microsoft, Asus, HP, MSI, Lenovo, and Dell are expected to launch RTX Spark laptops sometime this fall, and some of these partner companies have shared details about what we can expect.
The common feature of all the upcoming launches is the Arm-based Nvidia RTX Spark superchip, although several variations are in the pipeline. The flagship version unveiled by Nvidia at Computex includes 20 CPU cores, 6,144 GPU cores, and 128GB of LPDDR5X memory — close to the GB10 chip inside Nvidia’s DGX Spark “personal AI supercomputer.” Other versions with less than 16GB of memory will follow later, according to Nvidia.
So, aside from the new chipset, here’s what we know so far about the upcoming RTX Spark laptop:
Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra
Microsoft has provided a handful of details about its upcoming RTX Spark-powered Surface Laptop Ultra. We don’t have final specifications or even a price, but we do know that the Surface Laptop will have a 15-inch Mini LED touchscreen with 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness. Microsoft says it’s the “brightest display we’ve ever shipped,” and that it delivers 262 pixels per inch and “high-precision color accuracy.”
The Surface Laptop Ultra will have ports for HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, SD card, and a headphone jack, though Microsoft hasn’t specified what speeds or versions these will run on. The haptic touchpad is “the biggest we’ve ever put on a surface,” according to Microsoft. The company also claims it’s the “most powerful Surface Laptop ever made,” though without full specs to back it up, we won’t know for sure until we get to test it ourselves later this year.

Both laptop displays support touch functions, and the dialpad wheel built into the touchpad of current-generation Pro Art laptop models is being replaced with haptic touchpad features.

Dell, Lenovo, HP and more
If you’ve been paying attention to our Computex coverage, you’ll know that Dell, HP, and Lenovo will also be launching Nvidia Spark-powered devices. The announcements of the new Dell XPS 16, Lenovo Yoga Pro 9n, and HP’s upcoming OmniBook X 14 and Ultra 16 were confirmed to be among the more than 30 Nvidia RTX Spark laptops coming later this year, but details on pricing and specifications were not included in the announcements. In Nvidia’s announcement, it said all RTX Spark laptops will have “all-day battery life” and be “as thin as 14mm”.
HP says it will share information “closer to availability” and other companies are likely to stick to a similar timeline. There are some images of the devices to at least give us some idea of what will be launching this fall. Acer and Gigabyte are also expected to launch their own Spark laptops. According to NvidiaThere is no mention of specific models or launch timeframes though.
