Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the gained 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:), which rose 3.63% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (ELI:) added 2.31% or 0.32 points to end at 14.16 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:) was up 1.45% or 0.26 points to 18.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:), which fell 2.67% or 0.30 points to trade at 10.94 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) declined 0.57% or 0.02 points to end at 3.30 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:) was down 0.35% or 0.02 points to 4.28.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 7 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP Renovaveis (ELI:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.67% or 0.30 to 10.94. Shares in EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) fell to 3-years lows; down 0.57% or 0.02 to 3.30.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.60% or 0.45 to $75.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.53% or 0.38 to hit $72.07 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.02% or 27.40 to trade at $2,703.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 104.34.
