KMC Hospital Mangaluru Launches Specialized Orthopaedic Clinics for Enhanced Patient Care, ET HealthWorld

Mangaluru: KMC Hospital Attavar launched a series of specialised clinics under its department of orthopaedics, aimed at offering state-of-the-art treatments tailored to individual patient needs, Dr B Unnikrishnan, dean, Kastruba Medical College, Mangaluru, told reporters on Wednesday.

Dr Chakrapani M, medical superintendent of the hospital said that these clinics will cater to various sub-specialties within orthopaedics, providing expert care and faster recovery times. The clinics will operate between 3 pm and 4.30 pm.

Dr Atmananda S Hegde, professor and HoD of orthopaedics, highlighted the different clinics. On Monday afternoons, the sports Injuries and joint replacement clinic will focus on athletes and active individuals, offering care to ensure a quick recovery and prevent long-term damage. The foot and ankle clinic, functioning on Wednesday afternoons, will treat injuries, deformities and chronic conditions such as fractures, sprains, and achilles tendon issues, utilising both conservative treatments and surgical interventions.

The sports injuries clinic on Thursday afternoons will provide tailored care for athletic injuries. Additionally, on Friday afternoons, the hand and wrist clinic will specialise in treating fractures, tendon injuries, and arthritis, while the spine clinic will address spinal issues like herniated discs and chronic back pain through early diagnosis, pain management, and surgical as well as non-surgical treatments.
