NCP leader Baba Siddique shot dead in Mumbai. An unidentified person fired at and injured Baba Siddiqui of the Ajit Pawar-led NCP in Mumbai’s Bandra East on Saturday evening. The former state minister was admitted in Lilavati Hospital nearby, a police official said.

The swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government in Haryana will be held on October 17 in Panchkula, the party said in a statement on Saturday. A passenger train from Mysore to Darbhanga via Perambur collided with a goods train standing at Kavarappettai railway station near Thiruvallur on Friday, the police said. As per the initial reports, one coach caught fire and 5-6 coaches have de-railed after the accident. After receiving the information, railway officials have rushed to the spot of the accident.
