Google I/O 2026 brought us a glimpse of major updates. Gemini AI. There’s been a lot of talk surrounding the cinematic power of the all-new Gemini Omni, up to the lightning-fast Gemini 3.5 flash. But there’s one feature that caught my eye, and it might solve my biggest problem with the Gemini. That’s all about to change with its new “Neural Expressive” update.

What is Google Gemini’s Neural Expressive Update?

Neurological expression There is a vibrant, dynamic, and completely redesigned language for Gemini. This means its interface now includes fluid animations, dynamic colors, new typography, and haptic feedback.

Before, Gemini provided the answer, but you had to manually scan, filter and unpack paragraphs of monotonous text to find actionable insights. Gemini, perhaps more than any other AI I’ve tested, likes to pad its insights with fluff.

Neural Expressive tackles this problem directly by moving Gemini away from text generation and toward real-time, dynamic design. Instead of blocks of text, you’ll get well-formatted PDFs. You’ll find interactive timelines, narrated videos and animated graphics. It’s far more intuitive and a great tool for people who process information visually, like me.

What else is new for Gemini at Google I/O 2026?

Neural Expressive isn’t the only thing coming out of Google I/O 2026.

Let’s start with the Gemini 3.5 Flash — the first LLM model of the next generation, which promises to be smarter and faster than ever before.

If you use AI to create videos, Google also announced Gemini Omni, a new model that seamlessly combines text, images and video input to create stunning, high-quality video outputs with ease.

If you own a Google Home device, you’ve probably seen Gemini roll out over the past few weeks. Now, Google has announced Daily Brief, available today for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in the US. This new agent gives you a personalized morning brief and lays out exactly what you need to know to start your day. It works seamlessly with Gemini Spark, a new agent designed to proactively manage 24/7 personal AI tasks and help you navigate your digital life.

Last, but by no means least, Gemini Live has gotten a big improvement. Now, you can seamlessly switch from typing a quick question to diving deep into a free-flowing conversation — and back again — without fail. But perhaps best of all – the mic controls have finally been fixed!

All these updates, combined with Neural Expressive, mean that Google Gemini is worth checking out today.
